The all star game is filled with the games best players, and every team will get at least one player representing them. There will always be some snubs, as well as some surprising players so let’s take a look at one player from each AL team who I think could surprise a lot of people and make the team.

AL East:

1.) Yankees: Gleyber Torres. The Yanks are headlines by players like Judge, Stanton and Severino, but have one of the best shortstops in Torres.

2.) Red Sox: Nathan Eovaldi: Signed back with the Sox after a spectacular playoff performance. Watch for him to keep it up.

3.) Blue Jays: One of the better closers for the Astros had a down year in 2018 but could easily bounce back in a big way.

4.) Rays: Tommy Pham: He is going to hit 30 bombs and have 100 RBIs this year. MVP conversations?

5.) Orioles: Alex Cobb? The orioles are going to lose 150 games this year they’re so bad

AL West

1.) Angels: Andrelton Simmons: A premiere fielder that can also hit for around .300 could sneak his way into the team

2.) Rangers: Isiah Kiner-Falefa: The 23 year old catcher could potentially be a top 3 catcher in the AL if the cards fall in the right place

3.) Astros: Robinson Chirinos: One of the more underrated catchers could sneak up on people with good enough stats to make it.

4.) Mariners: Mitch Haniger: He was great last season but I don’t think many recognized him for it so watch out for another breakout year from the outfielder.

5.) Athletics: Ramón Laureano:

AL Central

1.) Tigers: Shane Greene: The started could be the best player on the Tigers if Castellanos is traded and Cabrera is still injured.

2.) White Sox: Yoan Moncada: One of the more highly regarded prospects has had a slow start to his season but perhaps he puts it all together in 2019

3.) Royals: Brad Keller: The young starter on the Royals could be one of the few bright spots on a struggling team.

4.) Indians: Mike Clevinger: One of the better pitchers in Cleveland shadowed by Cluber and Bauer could make his way to the top this season

5.) Twins: Jonathan Schoop: The 2017 all star had a down year in 2018 and people are forgetting about him. Watch out for the second basemen.
