The Minnesota Twins season results will have a lot to do with how their outfield trio of Buxton, Kepler and Rosario perform. It was key for them to start the spring on a roll and through five games, they certainly have.
Combined they are 14-18 (.777 AVG) with 14 RBIs and 4 home runs. By themselves, Buxton has gone 5-5 with 2 home runs and 10 RBIs while Kepler has gone 3-4 with 2 walks, 2 home runs and 2 RBIs leading to Rosario going 6-9 with 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored
Seeing Byron Buxton perform was definitely one of the key pieces to this spring because of how poorly last season went in every way for him. He has looked like much bigger, quicker and confident version of himself.
Of course Spring Training stats should never be taken too seriously, especially this early but Twins fans are extremely excited to see these guys who are core pieces to the team playing well. If at least 2/3 of them have big seasons it will go a long way toward a playoff push.
2/26 Twins beat the Pirates 6-5
Here are the final box scores…
Batting: The point for today’s game goes to the outfielder Eddie Rosario. 2-3 with an RBI and run scored in today’s game.
Pitching: The pitching point will go to Tyler Duffey. He is fighting for a roster spot and his 2 innings with 3 K’s will certainly help.
